Experience
I have 30 years teaching experience and have been a full time professional tutor for the last 10 years. For 20 years I taught in secondary schools and then went on to become a full time private tutor. Many of my students have lesson with me after school plus I have also been teaching home schooled students for a number of years and they study their sciences and maths solely with me - all have been highly successful.More
I firmly believe that understanding how a student learns is fundamental to delivering online lessons in a way that suits them best. I also work hard to ensure that students feel relaxed and confident in their own abilities. Many of my students feel that they just can't access the topics they are learning, so I help to give them the confidence they need.I cover the course content as stated in the specific exam board used to a depth that is relevant to the student's needs and capabilities. Above all I always strive to change that "I can't do it" mentality into an "I can't do it yet" state of mind. That way students are always willing to give it a go and that quickly leads on to "I can do it"! As well as the course content itself I work on exam technique, revision styles and relaxation methods to help give students a more rounded session.
I am happy to offer a free 30 minute trial lesson so that students and parents can find out if my teaching style suits their learning style.
